Don’t Miss It
Well, here we are. The week of Christmas....70 degrees. I've been playing Christmas music, my home is decorated. I have presents wrapped, tons of food and treats everywhere and I'm excited to see my family...but it just doesn't feel like Christmas. Yet.
But Christmas it is.
Last week at church, this scene struck m
e. It brought my heart to a hard beat.
Yesterday it all came together.
We all know what Christmas is really about. We shouldn't be arguing what to say to each other to be politically correct or not to offend. We should just say, "Happy Birthday Jesus"!
We understand this scene, Mary-the virgin. Joseph-the husband. Shepherds, wise men, Baby Jesus-the savior. All there in all nativity scenes. All important.
What struck me was that someone knew there was a missing piece.
The Angel.
The angel is important!
The angel told Mary she was going to give birth to our Savior! The angel told Joseph not to divorce Mary because she was carrying the Savior of the World!
The angel told the Wise Men to follow the North Star and they would find our King! The angel told the shepherd's to go to the manger where the savior was...the angel was sent from Heaven to direct them to Jesus. To lead them to Christ. To show them the way.
I'm a special gal. I've had many angels in my life that have led me to Christ. Who have shown me the way to Him. They've forgiven me and shown grace to me. They don't judge me. They accept me for who I am, how I am and model a forgiving, loving, patient, kind, accepting God to me.
I'm not perfect. Never claimed to be. I'm broken, a sinner. I have a crazy mind, loose tongue, a selective attitude and more faults than I can list, but they've shown me love and Jesus without fail.
We need more angels in our lives.
I need to be more of one:) My duty here is to be one. To lead others to Christ. He's The Savior. He suffered so much for us so we can be with him eternally. The least we can do is honor him.
Just like the angel.
Happy Birthday Jesus! My number one angel won't be making your cake this year. Bless her. She loves you more than anything.
Merry Christmas y'all! Everyone who made it this far down, and even the ones who didn't:)
Go in peace.
